Marc.Core aka Marc.Co
Discography
Marc.Core, also known as MarcCore, is a sound artist with roots in the picturesque Sauerland region, who moved his heart to the vibrant surroundings of the Rhineland near Cologne in 2010.His passion for electronic music was ignited back in 1996 when he set himself apart from the crowd by owning turntables and vinyl records as one of the first. His first record, "MAMBA," drew him in not only due to its aesthetic relief but also because of the fascinating sounds it contained. These sounds fueled his imagination and sparked his curiosity for the diverse possibilities of electronic music.Even as a child, Marc.Core showed an interest in electronics and soon found himself in the magazine "Elektor," where he discovered schematics for the legendary FORMANT modular Synthesizer. With tireless enthusiasm, he built a complete 19-inch rack in his parents' basement and spent every day there creating experimental and fascinating soundscapes. His parents would ask him about the device, but his answer was simple: "One sound." However, that one sound was anything but ordinary, and his parents let him be, encouraged by his passion.During his school years, in the 7th grade, he experienced the end of the rock era at the school disco, which traditionally took place on the last day before summer vacation. Marc.Core and his friend Dave, equally passionate about electronics, decided it was time to bring something new. They became pioneers in the student DJ scene, rocking the school disco with an old mixer, a turntable, and a CD player. From that moment on, the path to the world of electronic music was set. Marc.Core invested in equipment and continuously honed his skills. From Omnitronik turntables to drum machines, synthesizers, and effect devices, his childhood room was never quiet again, but his parents understood his passion.A milestone was the purchase of an MPC 2000XL, with which he could control his Format B Modular Synthesizer with MIDI notes and produce impressive drums. It was an adventure for him and a journey into an entirely new sonic world for others.DJing also played a significant role in his development. He acquired and repaired Technics 1200 turntables and developed a deep love for his Pioneer DJM 500 mixer. Starting in 2000, he produced numerous techno tracks, some of which were even released on vinyl.Marc.Core built connections and friendships in the electronic music scene of Cologne and traveled throughout Europe to showcase his music. Together with his best friend Feab, he ventured into live performances, creating spectacular soundscapes on stage. While his journey through the electronic music world spanned from the '90s through tribal techno, schranz, and disco-house, he remained loyal to his second great love: minimal techno. Inspired by artists like Hawtin, Schaffhäuser, Günther, the Martini Bros, and the Kompakt Records label from Cologne, he developed his own unmistakable style.Currently, Marc.Core is working on his exciting project "Big Brown Disco Boots" with DJ_responski from Cologne. In October 2023, they are set to release their second album, "Heart Pumping," on Traxsource, and the world can look forward to the creative sounds this duo has to offer. MarcCore remains a passionate sound explorer and an innovator in the electronic music scene.
